Creating shapechanging mask from an alpha channel
Hi!
I am using RE vision Morph in AE to create a morph between several still frames. RE vision Morph uses masks to define how the morph is done. I have a couple of stills with a person cut out an placed on a transparent background and then precomposed so the alpha channel of the precomp contains the borders of the stills which I want to convert to masks. I know there is a feature called auto trace which will give me a mask for the outline. The problem is that it creates “hold keyframes” at every frame and since the stills arent moving, there is no interpolation between the masks. I tried making a new mask keyframe just every second (thats the spacing between my stills)using timeremapping but since the keyframes were “hold keyframes” it was still no interpolation. I tried to change them to “normal keyframes” but i guess the vertices where strangly distributed because there was interpolation now but the person on the stills was messed up (cut here and ther by the mask). So the question is: Is there a way to quickly make a mask from an alpha channel at time 0 and another at time 1 s and another at time 2 s and so on and combine them to one single mask whose shape is interpolated between the different samplings in time.
thanks
