  • Chroma Keying / Greenscreen Problems…

Posted by Mike Elling on November 24, 2008 at 8:07 am

    Hi,

I have been experiencing problems lately with my FCP when I try to drag the chroma keying filter into my timeline. It immediately turns my clip red, and rendering it would take hours. What is wrong? Is it something with my sequence settings?

This happened the other day too simply when I dragged my imported clips into the timeline. Since it was very short I didn’t mind rendering it all, but I don’t have the time right now to wait, so please help!

    Thanks!!

Are the formats of the forground and background both video and are they the same codec? If not I’ll bet that’s the problem…

Also be sure that unlimited is checked on in the RT popup in the Timeline window.

sounds like you have the alpha view on. I am not by an fcp machine at the moment but if you go up to the canvas and select RGB the red should go away.

I was asleep when I read this… I thought he was talking about the red must render line….

    Hey Jerry,
I actually was talking about the must-render red bar, so your advice seemed to do the trick! I just put on Unlimited RT and now it’s allowing me to work with the clips. Thank you so much for helping me out, and hopefully I will not be back on here asking more questions later!
    Best,
    Mike
