Cat6 vs Cat6A for new facility install?
We’re moving to a new, 1600 sq ft. facility, and installing a 16-bay SNS EVO which will feed 4 Mac Pro workstations over 10GbE.
Is there any advantage to installing Cat6A cable runs for a new facility like this, rather than just using cheaper, thinner Cat6 cables? Obviously, cable-run distances to the server room will probably be short enough that regular Cat6 will suffice, but for a high-performance 10GbE video editing environment, will there be any noticeable performance, reliability and/or “future proofing” advantages in going with Cat6A instead?

simple answer –
Cat 6 is good for the full bandwidth of 10Gbase-T up to 55 meters.
To go beyond 55 meters, you need Cat 6A
Cat 7 shielded is not in the 10Gbase-T specification.end of story.

As Bob have said, use Cat6A which operates at 500Mhz and can support full bandwidth of up to 100meters.
Some cabling companies use 550Mhz for Cat6, but difference is also that Cat 6a is shielded twisted pair cable. Shield reduces crosstalk, especially at higher frequencies .
