    Hey Cows,

Not sure if this is a noob question, I appologize, I am a mgfx designer and rarely use fcp. I am doing a job that requires some dvcam footage. The tapes look great straight from the deck (dsr-11) – they were x-fered from beta so it should be great. When I capture them, the qt files generated looks pretty bad – slightly fuzzy and aliased. I assume it is a capture preset that is wrong. I used the default ntsc/dvcpro – 48k. What should I do?

Also, I hope that I can decompose the media and batch capture w/a new setting. Is this the case? (i hope)

    Thanks in a advance.

How are you viewing the footage? You need to view the footage from the computer on an NTSC monitor. If you can connect that DSR-11 up and judge it on the same monitor you saw it on, so much the better. You can’t trust anything you see in the Quicktime player or on your computer screen.

And the capture setting should be NTSC DV, not DVCPRO, but I doubt that would cause any visual problems. Just a side note.
