Can’t automatically continue capturing after timecode break
Running FCP 5.0.4 on a Quad G5. Capturing over firewire on a Sony HVR-25MU HDV deck to an XSAN drive. We are captuing the media at DV25. Despite being set to “make a new clip” it is unable to start capturing a new clip when it reaches a timecode break. It simply pauses and plays forwards and backwards dancing around the timecode break forever. I’ve played around with the Pre/Post roll settings as well looking for a magic combination – no luck. Anyone know the secret to getting it to start the next clip automatically?

When i’ve been capturing stuff and it finds timecode breaks sometimes it takes a good five min or so before it successfully locates the break and starts a new clip. Try just being a little more patient before you hit esc.
