November 26, 2009 at 6:45 pmEvery song on my iTunes is from a cd that I loaded to my iTunes… Even these ones are having problems.

November 27, 2009 at 12:44 amIn that case, get the music directly from the CD. Windows Media Player can do that job, and I’m sure there are many, many other ways to extract audio from a CD. Sound Forge, for example, can easily extract all the tracks from a CD.
Both of these options will deliver much higher quality audio, and Vegas will work with them.

Just to follow up on the answer to this question. The solution is not use Apple’s proprietary audio format to begin with. Especially if you import your music from CD. Change your defaults in iTunes to import CD’s as MP3 and keep all of your music library as MP3 and you will never be bothered by Apple’s proprietary audio format again.

November 27, 2009 at 11:47 pm> Sure! You can bypass it by avoiding sites, like iTunes, which use DRM.
Actually, iTunes doesn’t use DRM anymore so you don’t have to avoid them. It’s only if you have previous purchases that had DRM do you need to worry. Apple also allows you to upgrade your existing purchases to DRM free versions for the difference in price (the DRM was $0.99 and the non-DRM is $1.30). I buy all of my music through iTunes.

September 15, 2010 at 11:10 pmWhenever you can’t drag and drop a file it is usually because you don’t have the proper codec installed. Use a utility like GSpot to determine what codec you need and then find that codec and install it.

Did you try what I suggested with GSpot in the post you replied to? If so, what did you find out about the cocec?
