Can you please give me a screen grab of your HardDrive > Library > Quicktime folder?

    I’m a fool.

Did you have MXF4mac or Calibrated installed on your machine before?

Honestly, I’m not sure. Do I need one of those?

Now that I think about it yes, I think you do need one of those to look at files in the finder like that. You would have paid for either one of them.

I have MXF4mac so that’s why I can see it.

Funny, but after looking at both the MXF4Mac and Calibrated websites, I don’t remember ever downloading and (especially) paying for either program. I’m sure I had some free plug-in, I just don’t know what it was. Oh well, I guess I’ll just take the extra step and open the files up in either quicktime or P2CMS.
    Thanks

Could this be an OSX viewing preference?

I’m on an older OS here so I can’t check until later, but aren’t there options as to whether the finder shows thumbnails or generic icons?

    Hi Kara,

you see the “MXF4QT Import.component” file? That’s from us, maybe you downloaded the free demo. If not maybe you have a full version that has expired because it was not activated.

You can send me the file and I will check this out for you.

    Thanks
    Bjoern

I don’t have that file and I’m not sure I ever did.

Are those MXFs AVC-Intra clips? In this case you also need the AVC-I decoder from Panasonic.
