Can I change my project from 4:3 to widescreen without starting a new project?
Hey guys, this is my first post in these forums, so please be gentle. If this is the wrong place please do let me know were I should post.
I started a project in what I now believe is 4:3 ratio (NTSC DV (720×480, 29.970 fps)).
So I added all my footage (which is widescreen), edited loads and worked on it for ages. But now I realized it always renders in 4:3 because my project is in 4:3! I really want to make a widescreen vid.
Is there any way of rendering from this project so that it makes a widescreen vid?
Or is there any way of now changing the project settings to widescreen?Or is the only way to start a new project (NTSC DV Widescreen (720×480, 29.970 fps)) and then do everything all over again?
I hope my question is clear

Hi Paavo
Just head to ‘File/Property’ and select the video tab. There you can change your property parameters via template or customised.
You may have to fix things up in your project timeline if you have any track motion or frame cropping etc. but for the most part things should be fine.
Save your project first and if you are not sure about things, save a second copy first and work on it before committing to your new edit.
Easy. See how you go.
