Best color for “Change to Color” or “Replace Color”?
Hello all! I am shooting a little web project that involves cloning a bunch of characters wearing the same clothing, except I want them to have different colors of clothing. I’m going to use one of the effects mentioned above, but it is not immediately apparent to me what color I should use. It will be shot on green screen, so at first I was thinking of using blue for their outfits, but is that the best option? I will be shooting in 4K 4:2:2.
I’m just guessing that there is some intersection of hue, luminance, and saturation relating to chroma information that I should be aware of, since ultimately I desire to alter the hue and saturation without affecting luminance so that shadows and creases on the clothing is identical.

Thankfully it’s a home studio and I’m the only actor so it’s relatively low stakes!
