May 17, 2005 at 2:55 amBecuase for the price point Apple offers FCP at many new people who haven’t been editing for more than a year can use the same system to edit home movies as many commercials, music videos, docs, series and stations are using at this point
many of the problems are improperly configured systems or just plain user erroryes there are some actual problems but many people don’t read the manual or know how to search the forum here

May 17, 2005 at 4:26 pmThe reason why you should consider Avid is its depth – from the super bins to the color curves. I have both FCP and Avid, and there is no comparison.
FCP is expanding in Hollywood, not for its functions, but for its cost -this is a management decision. The numbers make sense – 1 DS Nitris = 5 FCP bays.

May 21, 2005 at 1:28 amI’m sorry, but you guys that where “shown” how FCP is faster got fooled by smoke and mirrors! Something the manufactures are known to do at NAB! You need to go to a “reputable” reseller that can offer both products and get there best demo guy/girl to demo each. Have them tell you about the +’s and -‘s of each product back to back.
Then you can make an informed decision. -

May 26, 2005 at 10:10 pmFunny you say that…
Seeing as Avid or Mojo have nothing to do with rendering AT ALL. THAT IS ALL DONE ON THE COMPUTER’s PROCESSORS.
I’m also sure that at NAB you were using the same footage and built the same exact effect on both systems.
This is just crazy…
