May 16, 2005 at 6:04 pmWhat are you talking about rendering?
The whole point of Mojo is that you don’t need to render to output with DV25

May 16, 2005 at 7:03 pmI have access to both in a daily basis, FCP/G5 definetly renders slower than Avid/xw8000.

May 16, 2005 at 8:52 pmWildmangoose, I don’t see why you didn’t compare Avid to other PC based software, if a PC is what you want to edit on.
But otherwise, what Pixel Monkey said is correct. If you prefer FCP that is fine. I don’t see a question here.

May 16, 2005 at 10:09 pmWildman,
I hear you were at NAB…But, I don’t believe you. Why don’t you talk a little bit more about what “tests” you performed to come to your conclusions?
I have access to both FCP and Avid, and I’d like to verify your findings.

May 17, 2005 at 12:03 amI went to NAB on Monday. I spent some time at AVID even more time their then at apple. I had the lady that was helping me do a test for me to see how fast it renders. I was not impressed. But I don’t want to go with Mac. I wish Express Pro was better for AVID. Avids high end stuff is awesome.

May 17, 2005 at 12:55 amWhat to say about rendering? Hard to compare when they are 2 different platforms and applications.
XPro renders better with 3D because it has 3D features. FCP does not really. Also, there are better 3D cards on the PC side.
