Avid Media Composer 3.5 Trial Version NOT WORKING
Hi,
I just downloaded the new trial version of Avid Media Composer 3.5 on my MacBook Pro.
When I start Avid, after the loading screen, when the editing work area pops up, I get an error message saying: File ‘Avid Projects’ Not Found. All I can do is press OK, which just makes the box reappear, the only thing thing that I can do then is quit the application, as none of the buttons work on AMC.I have uninstalled and reinstalled Avid several times as well as downloading it again and reinstalling it.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Did you uninstall previous versions of the application?

Yes, I think so. Although to be honest I am relatively new to Mac, and perhaps I am not doing everything necessary to uninstall an application completely… I just moved it to the recycle bin and emptied it… I’m not sure if maybe there are other files and apps that might have been attached to that that are stored elsewhere and need to be deleted separately.

There are actual Avid uninstallers in the Applications folder that you need to use. Dragging to the trash does not do a complete uninstall.

If I have dragged the application to the trash, how can I get rid of the remaining files/apps that were part of the original installation?

Did you try running the unistaller anyway? I always run all the unistallers, even if I think I never installed the application in the first place.

I have tried uninstalling the app, using AppTrap. However, I don’t understand how you can uninstall an app if you dont know whether its there or not…
What method of uninstalling do you use? -
There are specific Avid provided uninstallers in the applications folder. It is called “Avid_Uninstallers” Use all of them, even if you never think you installed all of the them in the first place and try again.

I’ve done that. Still get the same error message when I try to run Avid after reinstalling
