    Hi,

I’ve been hearing rumours about compatibility issues with Avid Media Composer 3.0 and the new Intel iMac. Just wondering if anyone have had any problems running Avid on the iMac. I’m about to buy one with the following specifications:

    iMac 24-inch
    -2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
    -2GB 8000 MHZ DDR SDRAM
    -NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GS w/512MB GDDR3
    -500GB Serial ATA drive

Would I be able to run Avid on this? Just want to make sure before i go out and spend a couple of thousands.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Ash

I don’t know about a new black iMacs, but I am happily editing on 20″ 2,16 GHz iMac with 3 gigs of RAM and ATI X1600 128 MB under Leopard. You should be fine.

No other tuning. Just make sure you have a version of Quicktime that is approved by Avid. Apple likes to automatically update QT way too often and that can cause havoc.
