AVI files not working on SV
Now before you answer with a typical answer, believe me, me and my friend tried working this out, and of course it didn’t help. I Installed more then a couple of Codec’s and then UnIstalled them because they failed. Everytime i try and play AVI files, the file won’t work at all. It doesn’t play image/video or audio! Can somebody please help me solve this issue. It’s only with AVI files, and it doesn’t work on Sony Vegas or Windows Movie Maker. Please help me!!!

Have you used GSpot to determine which codec the file uses? if not, that would be my first step in solving this.

If I find out what Codec it needs, because i want to use more then one file, if they’re all AVI and downloaded from the same site, would the same Codec work for all of them?

Okay, it says that Codec[s] are installed.
I went to Proposed Codecs Solutions and Tests at the bottom and click the one, then the two on the:
MS
A/V… will it work now?

handles a number of different codec needs. Works within Vegas. -
Where do i go on the GSpot to check what Codec’s it needs though, even though it says Codec’s are installed.

Do i have to delete the Codec i have installed right now? Sorry for the double posting responces… I amd bad at keeping everything in one message, because i post and then have something else that i should’ve written.

Triple post now… It didn’t work. See everytime i click and then drag it to the timeline… the usual Red circle with the slash through it is there, but then when i drop nothing happens. Everytime I click on the file to import it, Vegas slows down and stops replying, then after awhile it work’s and it does the same thing when i click open. But then again sooner or later starts responding again. But none of them end up dropping onto the timeline like the others. K-Lite Codec Pack doesn’t work, neither does the K-Lite Codec Mega Pack… Again, this only does this with AVI files.

Are you using Vegas Pro 64-bit? That would explain what you are seeing if you don’t also have a 64-bit codec for the files you are using.

Okay i have a 64-bit computer, a 64-bit Sony Vegas installed, and i had K-Lite Codec pack, and every single Codec I installed wouldn’t work.
