thx…jw”
What are you getting for Kernal Panic. I’m getting a bunch “Sorry but Premiere has experienced a serious error and must shut down”. I’ve had 6 or 7 of those in the last couple of days. Seemed to start after I added a noise reduction plugin. Don’t know if that means anything.

June 8, 2012 at 5:03 pmSounds like its systemic to your computer. Im cutting a music video now. Just the audio track. Clear as a bell on the Kona 3. See system configuration below.

June 10, 2012 at 9:03 pmI’ve seen a few of the Premier errors, but the Kernal panics were full blown semi transparent box in middle of screen telling me I had to restart. Repairing permissions seems to have solved all of the issues however. A least for now.

June 20, 2012 at 8:18 pmI fixed these problems (99% of the time) by calling AJA Support. He had me not only set the OSX system preferences output to “optical digital out” but also the INPUT to “optical digital in”. He said BOTH need to be set this way. Then in CS6 audio hardware preferences set to “built in output”. Then set the CS6 Playback default player to “Adobe Player”and the audio device to the “AJA Kona(your flavor here)”
One final thing is that he had me do is delete my AJA preferences in the “user>library>preferences folder. Basically all of the”com.aja.xxxx” files.
Once I did all of this and did a reboot everything has worked very nicely.

October 22, 2012 at 3:54 pmI have called Adobe and complained about this issue. I have the Alesis Multimix 4 and it keeps dropping audio. It won’t always let me toggle back using system default. This is a mess.
Editing is a nightmare. Anytime I render it drops out. Have to reboot software and sometimes need to restart iMac.
This is a huge issue and I blame Adobe Premiere for this issue. If it works sometimes then it should work all the time. It’s not a driver issue. Alesis has no drivers. Plug and play. -

November 17, 2012 at 12:18 amA little late to this post but wanted to get some feedback.
Setting system sound settings to digital in/out seems to make the PP6 audio playback much better.
Problem now is any audio played through other apps like QT and web browsers won’t play out.
We are monitoring the audio out of the embedded SDI via a disembedder.
Any suggestions for other settings would be appreciated.Thanks.

December 12, 2013 at 5:40 amI’m sorry but this isn’t good enough.
Are we expected to open System Prefs and change audio drivers every time we switch between applications because of this Premiere issue? That is not real world practical!I have been exploring moving over to Premiere from FCP7 but this is just all too hard. I should be able to use the same piece of hardware between multiple software packages, and have been seamlessly. Up until i tried to use Adobe Premiere.
Somebody needs to fix this!
