Have you heard anything back? This was a HUGE issue with cs5 and AJA that never got fully resolved. Was certainly hoping this had been addressed better in the drivers for CS6.

Same issue with the Kona LHi. Changing to anything other than AJA Kona out helps. Built In Digital Out works best for now. Same problem back with 5.5. Ugh. I just noticed today that I get no audio from my Mac if Premiere Pro is open. So if I play a video clip outside of premiere I get no audio. Have to close Premiere first then the audio games back. Anyone else have this issue?

Your main System Preferences > Audio > Output needs to be set to something other than AJA Kona. This is how the new Transmit Engine in Adobe works, it will override the System Prefs and play out via the Kona.

    Thanks Walter

I wasn’t able to get any audio from the computer at all when playing files. Only from Premier. I called AJA and reinstalled the AJA software NDD version and now the issue is fixed. I haven’t tested the playback yet.

I tested the audio after reinstalling the AJA software and it’s still bad. Lots of dropout and back to no audio output outside of Premiere when the program is open. I have to quite Premiere Pro to get audio from a movie or anything with sound. This is frustrating and I can’t edit like this today.

It’s critical that both the System Preferences audio settings and the Premiere Audio Hardware preference not be set to “AJA”. If either is set to AJA hardware, drop outs and distorted audio will result. Also important: if the setting in either case is incorrect and then corrected, the system must be rebooted before audio will be restored to correct operation. The usual settings for the Mac OS audio should be “Line Out” or “Internal Speaker,” etc. Anything other than “AJA”. For Premiere, the usual setting should be “System Default” etc. and not “AJA.”

This information was provided in the Release Notes document supplied with the latest AJA Adobe Mac Plug Ins:
    https://www.aja.com/ajashare/ajadocuments/AJA_Adobe_Plugins_Mac_10.3.pdf

    From that document:
    • AJA KONA and Io Core Audio drivers are not used in Premiere Pro. The Core
Audio driver will show up in the Premiere Pro Audio Hardware selector, but users
should instead select the Premiere Pro default audio device. If the Core Audio
driver is selected, some audio problems may occur. See the the AJA Adobe Plug-ins
manual for more information on setting up the audio output in Premiere Pro.

If you need assistance configuring the audio, please feel free to contact AJA Technical Support via phone or email.

Thanks for the settings however I’ve done all of them and this is what I still have problems with.

Setting system audio to Line Out results with no audio output from my Mac Pro outside of Premiere Pro. Websites, movie clips audio files all playback with no audio.

Still getting dropout in Premiere Pro.

Yeah. I’ve tried just about every setting as well. Setting Audio to System Default seems to help a little but I still get silence and drop outs left and right. I have Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro 7 on the same system and do not have any issues at all with either one of them.

Things are a little better today.

Here is what I did per tech support.

Powered down Mac and then reset the LHi by holding down the tiny black button on the card for 5 seconds while I booting the computer.
Then ran the updater in the AJA folder to update firmware.
    Reboot.

Audio is now working outside of premiere on the mac with no issues.

No more distorted audio but still getting complete dropout on both sequence and source. To get audio back I have to click on one or the others pane. If audio is dropped in sequence I click on source and vice versa then the audio comes back. Hopefully this will get fixed with some kind of update from either Adobe or AJA.
Thanks for the Tech support AJA!
