  • Anyone know when Magic Bullet Looks 2.0 will be available for SVP 12?

Posted by Ron Whitaker on September 15, 2013 at 2:47 am

I went to Red Giant’s website and was looking at MB Looks.

    “Looks” like an awesome plugin.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work with SVP 12.

Has anyone heard if/when they’ll have the plugin for SVP 12?

    Hi, I’m on 2.2 here and Win7 64bit : Here’s the list of updates.

More to the point and your question, RG clearly is stating in their Table see below that MBL2 works in VP12 but only Win8, I really shouldn’t be able to make it work in Win7.

    Here’s that compatibility Table.

If I’m making it “available” to myself then I shouldn’t be!!

    So, Ron, in Win8, yes . . .

Sure Theo, but if you have a question to RG and the first thing you say after they say what OS you running it on will be: XXXXX – yeah?

I too have MBL2 “working” on Win7 in VP12, but am I? Am I truly getting what I think or seeing? We need to be careful about advising “others” as to how sufficiently s/w is supported IF that s/w company doesn’t say it is compatible. Get my point Theo?

Guys, Magic Bullet Looks works perfectly in Sony Vegas Pro 12
on any system, It always has, So there is nothing to be concerned
    about.
What im concerned about and in constant dialogue with them about,
is for them to make Mojo available again for Vegas and to include
a Blend Slider in magic Bullet looks.

What is in question is the operating system which they themselves indicate as needing Win8 rather than Win7.

Steve, as you are in contact with them, do have this confirmed for Win7 and have that compatibility “dot” for Win8 copied over to Win7. Easy really – if that is correct – no?

And yes to MoJo. I met up with the RG colleagues here in London and was on their case about that too!

MB Looks 2 works for me within Vegas pro 12 identical to how it works in Premiere Pro and After Effects. So no, I don´t get your point. Sorry!

Magic Bullet has a love hate relationship with Vegas….lol
I kid you not. Today a plugin is supported, tomorrow in an update
its not, then three updates down the road its supported again,
and the twists goes on and on.

Dont know why so much effort goes into supporting only After Effects
for every third party developer…oh, i forgot, its money (lol)

I have SVP 12 on Win7. I downloaded and installed the demo version of MB Looks 2.

It didn’t show up in the Plugins list.

So, do I need to upgrade to Win8?

If so, tell me ALL the problems Win8’s gonna cause!

Well yes Graham, the newest version (2.1.1) of Looks seems to only
work on Windows 8 64bit for Sony Vegas. (previous versions are ok)

Goes to prove my point on the issue i raised in the post i made
    before this….lol
