September 27, 2006 at 12:10 amTom, can’t you just choose the option to download only, or install and keep package via software update and then just transport the package from machine to machine?

September 27, 2006 at 12:17 amOh, sorry Tom, ignore my other post. I didn’t know the package works this way. If it does, I can see how annoying this could be. Sheesh.

September 27, 2006 at 12:27 amNo, it wouldn’t let you install the package you download from Software Update.
I hope to be able to test direct download from the web site, when I can download it. At the moment I’ve been fapped. (If you use DirecWay satellite internet service you probably know what that is. Basically I can’t download for four to six hours.)
All the best,
Tom

September 27, 2006 at 12:47 amThis method appears to work, Tom. Make sure you back it up, though, b/c Apple only lets you download it once. I wanted to log back in after downloading the package to get one of the other updates and it wouldn’t let me.
As usual, legit users get shafted, while pirated users probably already have a way around this nonsense.

September 27, 2006 at 12:55 amCharlie, check this….
The new realtime scopes may be the cause of your issue….luckily you can turn them off or use a less demanding setting. From Apples release notes…
Note:
Using the Playback Scopes Live option requires additional processing power.
Enabling this option could result in a red render bar in the Timeline. Also, the Video
Scopes tab may not update in real time with some formats. For example, playing back
an HDV multiclip requires significant processing power, so the Video Scopes tab may
not update in real time in this situation. -

September 27, 2006 at 12:57 amTerrific! I might not be able to download it because the download failed because of fapping. I might have to wait till I can get to another location.
All the best,
Tom

September 27, 2006 at 2:10 amFX Plug is super cool. I am on a Powerbook G4 at the moment, and I am playing with the Fxplugs with 1080p24 DVCPRO HD material that I threw on my SYSTEM DRIVE before I left the studio and I’m getting rt playback on the some fxplugs. It’s kind of nutty. I wish there could be some sort of sweet fx plug keyer.

September 27, 2006 at 2:32 amcheck out Conduit from DVgarage.
its a node compositor for Motion but it actually now shows up in FCP as well because its a FXplugin.
I only have a demo version and didn’t try it yet, but I think it’s worth a look.
FXplug support is a very big thing for FCP!
