I think the XAVC template came with Sony Vegas Pro 12 build 486 !

Sony XAVC will provide better quality, I don’t think Youtube is accepting the MXF. However you could use XAVC S (long) which uses the mp4 container that Youtube will accept. Better quality than MainConcept of Sony AVC, with files about 4 times the size.

I doubt using the XAVC S template will make any difference with your issue, but I’ve seen stranger things!

Rick; “Switched to Internet HD 1080 and all clips turned out fine, but again, just not as crisp, so I guess it’s not the video clips at all, just the 4k codec causing the hangup

I don’t think it is the 4K video clips either, but on the 13th I will download and test. I also don’t think it is the 4K codec either, as I’m still not getting your issue.

Do not think I mentioned that he was going to upload Sony XAVC MXF to Youtube – you can’t! It was to test if Sony XAVC was better than Mainconcept!

With regard to the Sony XAVC S MP4 – XAVC S, I think it came with Vegas Pro 13 !

I can confirm the XAVC Long, XAVC Intra, and XAVC S Long, did come with Vegas Pro 13, but I no longer have VP12 installed so can not check that.

Ole Kristiansen, I have confirmed Vegas Pro 12 (build 770) came with Sony XAVC intra, and XAVC S Long-GOP (mp4).

Rick, I installed my old VP12 build 770, so when I do download your video I will test using it, to closer simulate your project. I scanned back through the replies and I didn’t see where you posted what build you are on. If I missed it, my apology, if not could you post your VP12 build number?

At any rate, you should have Sony XAVC render format to test, as Ole suggested, if you want to see if it makes any difference.

    Best Regards……George

OK, just loaded it up and it’s build 177 (Pro 15)

It shows various new codecs that Pro12 didn’t have (including Magix and XAVC)

Gunna try a render and see what happens

    Ok, now I’m really lost

Using Pro15, I rendered today’s footage and photos and basically had the same issues I had with Pro12

    Here’s an MPEG2 1080 version (smooth transitions)

And here’s a Magix 4k version (crappy transitions)
