So I have tried to figure this out by searching the fourms and reading what there is. hopefully you gurus and help a small time Idahoan.

We have footage that was shot on a hpx170 in 720 24pn mode and footage that was shot on the same camera at 720 60i (59.97) this footage was edited in a dvcproHD 720 timeline with the frame rate set to 23.98 and has ultimately been exported and given to me to play out. i don’t have the original footage just the export Quicktime. I need to convert this footage to SD with the frame rate of 29.97 ( we use a grass valley turbo) my question is what is my best option for making this conversion look good. i have final cut pro 7 (studio 3 :)) After effect and Episode engine at my disposal. please help me.

Your best bet is Episode Pro. Do an HD to SD Resize to 720×486 or 480 depending… and add “Frame Rate” Filter Mode “Fixed Frame Rate” Preset “Telecine 23.98 to 29.97” New Frame Rate 29.97.
