  Interesting Compressor Message

  This is not a big issue, merely an annoyance. Lately when I start Compressor for the first time each day I get the following message:

  The last Compressor batch was submitted by a different user.
  This batch may have finished or may still be in process. Click Reset to delete all unfinished jobs in the batch and continue opening Compressor. Click Quit to stop opening Compressor and allow any unfinished jobs to continue. You can also open the Batch Monitor (located in the /Applications/Utilities folder) to verify the status of any jobs still in process.

  I checked the Batch Monitor and there are no unfinished jobs. I’m the only user. I have been selecting Reset continuing on as per usual. Like I said it’s not a major issue, just an annoyance. Anyone else seen this? Thanks.

  Hi Lee,
  I have exactly the same message just few days ago.
  I’ve never saw that before.
  I’m the only user too.
  It happens after a hang were Compressor didn’t submit the Batch.
  I ran “Compressor Repair’ and after I’ve got that message.
  What you need is to clean the “History” window.
  may be a job that have been improperly stopped or so.
  Hope this helps.

  Try Compressor Repair as Rafael suggests. It might help.

  Thanks John. I think running Compressor Repair caused the problem for both Rafael and me.

  Unfortunately his suggestion about clearing the history did not help. Perhaps I should try running Compressor Repair again.

  Yes. Do it Lee.
  I’ve run it again and now it works fine.
  However cleaning the History Window is a good policy.
  I used to have problems with jobs that I sopped but Compressor re-started whenever I opened the application.

  Which version of Compressor are you running? Did you run Compressor Repair on a non-administrator account?

  Hi John,
  Sorry I haven’t answered before.
  I’m running Compressor 3.05 in a MBP.
  I’m the only user in my computer and I have no other accounts.
  Curiously the Compressor message (can not fully remember it) mentioned something about other accounts.
