    Hi,

We are trying to capture Panasonic Varicam footage shot in 720p60 with a panasonic AJ HD1400 deck via my BlackMagic Decklink HD Extreme (im using Final Cut Pro 6.0.2 on a macpro latest version, leopard). Im capturing via a HD-SDI and controling the deck via the firewire. the problem is that Final Cut constantly detects timecode breaks in my footage and makes new clips which can be wherever in a take. So, a captured reel ends up as 5-10 clips instead of one file. I have tried to have the deck not hooked up via Frewire and controlling the deck locally itself, no difference. So the FireWire controller does not seem to be the issue.

Otherwise the capture works fine. Is there a solution for this? I need to get this capture going during the day so please help!

    Thanks!

Why are you controlling it Firewire and not RS-422? RS-422 will be a better way to control the deck.

    ok! thanks!
now capture is working. I just upgraded my drivers. It seems since i did not use the frame rate converter with the varicam and the drivers for my DeckLink were old FCP had problems with the signal or something.
