    Hey All

am wrapping up a job and as its really my firsdt of its kind i wanted to get some feedback as to flow

For reasons i wont bore you with I had to do an hdv job starting by digitizing all the footage into fcp4 at dv downconverting via an M10U,
editing at dv, then recapturing selects at HDV off the same deck.

    man what a thrash!

    1. when i go to recapture the HDV footage, everytime i cross a time code break FCP generates a new clip AND DOES NOT ALWAYS LINK IT TO THE RIGHT CLIP IN THE SEQUENCE. so ikeep getting these recconnect errors (i will start with one clip to recap, and after i have 4!)

    2. Basic titles and filters take foreeeeeevvvvvvveeeeeer to render, and i am ona dual 2.7

    3. In regards to 1, i was able to succesfully recap about 50 shots, and only had to manually relink 6.

    4. I have to reposition all the titles and graphics from my DV offline cuz now the frame is bigger!

    5. I have a kona card lh and i wonder if i can do either of the following: Capture into the catd DVCPROHD component from my M10U controlling via firewire OR capture into the card DVCPROHD component using a Tao L-Port to go between the rs 422 and the M10U
    LANC?

thanx for any and all help!

I can make one small suggestion, which is to set your User Preferences to “On timecode Break: Warn after Capture” rather than “make new clip”, this solved the same problem for me.
