    Greetings all,
Another question I should know the answer to. When I’m batching stuff through compressor (v. 2), and I don’t want the new files in the same directory as the old, I have to select “destination”, “other”, and then tell it where I want it to go. Is there a way to select a destination for *all* of your batched files, instead of having to manually select the same destination for each file? I tried selecting “destination” from the drop down menu, hoping that was a global change but no such fortune. If anyone would like to throw the probably-highly-obvious answer my way I’d appreciate it.

    As would I.

I’m afraid we may be out of luck, however. I’ve never met anyone who could answer this question for me, either.

    Hi Nick.
Not sure if this is what you are asking but…apple-a (select all) of your batch then choose your destination. It will apply to all that you selected. Hope that helps.

Lo! It worketh! Yes! You have just saved me much tedious clicking and grumbling in the future.
Just to clarify for any others’ sake: “select all” in the compressor batch window (command-A), then select destination from the drop down menu (don’t try selecting destination in the batch window). Also works for choosing an encode.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have to get busy walking around and saying “Why didn’t I think of that?”

The answers. They’re often so simple.
