It would be great to have a video tutorial demonstrating on how to create nice designs. You know, like using the Fractal Noise etc. etc. to create some good…designs 😀

    It would be soooo useful.

    Thx!

I’m not sure After Effects is the program used to do this type of work but…

I’d love to know how to make 2d text follow tracking points in 3d space. I’m having a hard time figuring out to explain this, but it’s used in many commercials and movie openings. Dell is one example of how it’s used in commericals. The commercial shows a desktop computer on a desk and they shoot the footage on a dolly or jib rotating around the computer. Here’s what I’d like to know how to do, How can you track points in that footage and make your text follow in 3d space to make it look like it was part of that scene?

    Thanks,

    Allen

You’d need a 3D tracking (or “matchmoving”) app to do the tracking, then export the “3D solution” info into AE to create a properly moving camera there. Syntheyes is one app, PFtrack (?) is another and there are others. If you search the AE COW for “syntheyes” you’ll probably find a more comprehensive list.

I’d love to see an in depth tutorial on for example a classic plug like glow. it’s easy throwing glow on a something, everyone uses it, but there is quite a lot of messing about involved to really make it personal and give it character. it never seem to get exactly the super result that i was aiming for. how to get glow only on parts of logos and pics and to make glow travel nicely over material. I bet everyone has their own way of doing this, but it’d be nice to see someone who knows what they’re doing show some tricks. especially as it’s such an everyday plug. echo and matte choker are also two plugs that has shown to hide amazing possiblilties that i’d love to see a pro talk about.

    big thanks!
