  Grading

  Hi Folks,

  I need some advice, I have footage that is not shot in a LOG format and find it very limiting trying to grade just from the footage given, how does one replicate/grade footage, so that I can use a LUT if said footage is not in LOG? Is this possible, is there a trick to doing so?

  you could try the cineon effect (linear to log). or maybe change the color management. or try a layer set as mode ‘multiply’ in curves.

  also, your gamut is going to be clumped into a small area, so play with sat v sat.
