    Hi,
I need to be able to cause ripples in an existing particle field as someone walks through them. I am working on a play where a character walks through stars projected onto the set, and the stars need to react as she walks, then eventually come to a standstill. I own After Effects CS6 and Trapcode Particular, and I’d be willing to buy trapcode form if I knew that it would work.

    Thanks!

Hi Topher, it really depends on the look you are after. You could try keyframing the position of the Bulge effect, or create an adjustment layer, create a feathered mask where she would be, then use Turbulent Displace effect (though you might want to play with any of the Distort effects to see if there is something that gives you a look you like).

you should be able to use particular for this..doesnt it have and option for particles to wrap around a sphere…and if you animated that sphere …its been a while since i used particular…but oh man did i love it
