I am exporting a Pro Res 422HQ file from P P on a windows machine. The footage was shot in 1080i and imported as MPEG 2. If I use the “match source” settings it produces a file that plays

“squeezed”, in 4×3. (It says 1.333 anamorphic.) If I set the pixels as “square” (1.0), it comes out 9×16, but does not fill the frame. How can I get a better output? Thanks.

What would happed if you copied your 1440×1080 sequence to a new sequence that was 1920×1080 square pixels?

    Did it work ?

Unfortunately, I could not make the program allow me to set the sequence specs as 1920×1080.

they stayed at 1440x 1080, so it didn’t quite work. Which I guess raises the question of why I couldn’t do it? But thanks anyway.

Sometimes you need to set the sequence to Custom first before you can change a property.

But you dont need to change the sequence you can export directly to 1920×1080.

Thanks to both of you for your help. It turns out that (building on Jerry’s suggestion), if I create the new sequence, but as an XD Cam 422 1080i, it will be in 1080×1920 and exports as such!

I haven’t tried Ann’s approach as yet, but will do so. Thanks again.
