What you need to do is get a keyspan rs-232 to USB adapter. Then you should set up a different easy set up with a device control preset for each deck. This makes it easy to a/b between the decks with no patch cables or patch panels and avoids an a/b box.

So I hook up the Keyspan and FCP will automatically add USB/RS232 as an option for device control under A/V settings?

Well, not really automatically. You need to install some drivers, and then go into the a/v settings and under device control you will see keyspan serial or something like that. It’ll be obvious once it’s installed.
