  • i tried that toggle keyframe thing, but im still having issues when i want to start another camera movement it still shifts before it does what i want it to do. Now I’m having ANOTHER problem… I’m trying to use the text preset “emerge” and i cant get it to have any effect on the text in my comp. When it plays the “animation” i can see a cursor moving through each letter of the word but the word just instantly appears without fading in. WTF

  • im trying to do a 3d camera effect on the composition but im having some strange camera results. I’m using easy ease keyframes and if i copy 1 keyframe and put it next to the other (maybe a half second or so next to it) instead of staying at the same place, it kind of zooms out and zooms back into its origional position… what gives???

This is what I came up with…

Let me know if you have any suggestions on how to make it better, or if you think that looks good.

Thanks again for all the help! I got both of these techniques to work for me. I think the quake effect works best for what im looking for. When I was reading the .pdf that came with the download i was a little confused with how to adjust the shutter angle setting. He said he reccommended a setting of 360 but I’m not sure exactly where to adjust that from. Other than that it turned out great!

I figured it out!!! I just set a few keyframes and adjusted the “mask expansion” property in the timeline. Thanks again for all of your help!

Ok, so I achieved the effect I was attempting using the technique that wuzelwazel suggested (thanks!!!). The only thing I’m having a problem with now is making the ending transition of the shot fade to black. I want to make it seem like the black mask takes over the whole frame like it does in the youtube example I posted. I tried just using a cross disolve in premier, but it doesnt really have the same effect as what I’m looking for. Once again I’m probably over-complicating things, but if you have any advice I’d appreciate it… you’ve been very helpful so far.

Thanks guys… I’ll have to play around with it some more today. Like I said, I’m pretty much re-learning the entire program, so even those tips you gave me will take me some time to find where all the commands are to feather the mask etc. Thanks again for the advice!
