  • I have exactly the same problem. During recording a dance scene someone knocked over my tripod and the battry came out. I go home to find a DAT file instead of the dance! I also looked at Treasured but was very expensive!!!! I found fixdatfile.com which doesnt show prices on their site for some reason, but it cost me £10 to recover my 1.6GB dance clip. They also send u a preview like Treasured!

hey iv just seen videos of 5d mkIIs
and they seem to pan alot faster and alot better.
Is this problem im experiencing due to my camera aswell?

I understand what you guys are saying, that the CMOS chip in these are not very good for pan/s;ide as its too fast, but has the 5d mkII have a chip suited slightly better to do this

    Seriously?
Wow. What can 24!25fps be used for?
The video I posted I’s a bit fast. But it’s because I started to get annoyed.
But even when gently panning I feel a similar wobble. All be it slightly better than the video posted but deffinately visible.

you got me worried i use transcend cards all the time.
what ever you do, do not format it!

there is a way to get SOME files back, recovery programs are out there, just google.

they are usually for crashed hard drives but i sure the memory card will work. if not get a USB/SD card reader and try like that.

    keep us updated mate.

The video exported out using current settings is fine (although it was edited as anamorphic 16:9, but exports as 4:3).
It’s a problem whilst burning I reckon. So when I pop the burnt DVD back on to my pc Its cropped.

Thank you mate. I didn’t even know about safe areas.
Second thing is my problem is not just TV based. If I pop the completed DVD back onto my pc. And view it on vlc, quick time etc the video is cropped.
So it’s actually getting cropped whilst encoding for DVD when the source file is SD size anyway
