December 31, 2011 at 5:48 pm in reply to: Changing mother board, what should I put on it?

I want to thank all the people on the internet that have given me suggestions,

So far, for my PC, it is suggested that I choose Multi-core CPU (Intel QuadCore, Core I7), 4GB+ of RAM, 4GB+ of free Hard Disk space (on the drive hosting the OS), an OpenGL accelerated video board.

Since I decided to include VUE, the most suggested top 3 accelerated video boards have been…
    1. nVidia geforce 8800GT ForceWare 190.38 + (3)
    2. ATI FirePro V8700 Catalyst 9-3, 9-4 & 9-5
    3. nVidia-Quadro 600 & 2000 (GF100 based) which doesn’t require a specific driver,

This is all I have thus far.

I’m waiting for someone to jump up and say, “But don’t forget to add the __________ to secure a smooth operation when scrubbing the time line!” or something like that.. lol

    Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!

    O.K.

    I figured it out, DUH!

I needed to double click and create a Pose! TOO easy. I can only figure out the big time technical stuff and not sweat the small stuff.

    (Yeah Right)

In Adobe After Effects forum, I received this from:

RenderBreak Blog – What I’m thinking when my workstation’s thinking

“I believe this is the video you were asking about? ”

“As Jason and Steve mentioned, there’s a lot of skill and talent required; this is not a canned effect. But don’t take our word for it — check out the article about what work was necessary and what tools were used.

    I can’t believe this spot is 4 years old already… ”

    To which I replied:

    Thanks Walter.

In the article found in your link mentioned Particular, After Effects and Imagineer’s Motor, of which I also have Mocha and Mokey (I’ve had fun with for 3 years.) ”

It’s nice to know that the software that was used is already at hand so that Im not spinning my wheels trying to make something work that is not capable of doing so.

I happen to know that Mocha will work as well as Motor, if not better.

btw, Grossmann’s “tail end” effect with the rolling stones was awesome.

  • Hey, thanks guys!

I ended up using an external OS drive to delete trash and regain space perimeters.

I usually keep my drive space down to a minimum. This time one of my external hard drives crashed and I was so busy tying to salvage data and files, I got carried away and forgot about space management!

This is my third Western Digital hard drive that has crashed over a 5 year period!

I’m definitely switching to something else! (Iomega)?! My G-Raid is making strange noises and I think its about to go.

It isn’t so bad that they peter out, it’s just that they take everything with it!!!

  • Yeah, I tried that.

    I think I got problems!

I set up some time at one of the apple stores.

    I hope that helps.

    Thanx for the response.

  • Thanks Edward.
