    Hey Jimmy,

Ed can’t comment on future features, but I can, (heh, heh).

Yes DOF is high on our list of things to add. Version 5 was an incredible amount of work for us. Practically the entire user interface had to be rewritten to support the panel system. But it needed to be done in order to add new features like the drawing window, batch rendering window and expandable materials window. With this now behind us we can concentrate on adding even more cool features that will make your animations look like a million bucks!

    Hey Kevin,

We discovered a problem with the Info Area where typing numbers was causing crashes under certain circumstances. This would affect Position Rotation, Scale or Pivot Point values. This is now fixed in 5.0.6. Sorry for the frustration. Zaxwerks has great customer support so don’t hesitate to contact us if something crashes.

    Hi Latisha,
Sorry for the delay. It sounds like you have your objects grouped together. If you group them in Illustrator, they will come into ProAnimator as one big mass of geometry. Have your designer ungroup the artwork until each piece can be selected by itself with the Black Arrow tool. It might help you to watch the movie on our website called Prepping Illustrator Files For 3D. This is movie #35 on our Video Tutorials page.

January 27, 2011 at 7:57 pm in reply to: Trojan or Trajan font or substitution

Most likely your font is in True Type format. ProAnimator 4.5.1 doesn’t read True Type fonts but ProAnimator 5 will.

The only course is to create it in Illustrator, convert to outlines and then open the Illustrator file in ProAnimator 4.5.1. Glad you figured it out. One thing to remember is to always use large point sizes. Illustrator defaults to 12 point text, but all the presets in ProAnimator are set up for 72 point text. You really have to increase the faceting settings for small fonts in order for them to smooth properly. You can skip the headaches by using large sized letters.

Yes, 4.5.1 is the only version shipping at the moment, but 5.0 is coming very soon.

Go with the Illustrator file version.
Your picture shows the low-rez model used when previewing the animation. Try hitting the Render Frame button and see if the object is smooth enough for you. The high-rez models are only used for final rendering.
If you need it smoother select the O and increase the Object Faceting setting, use the Final slider.
    That should do it.

Make sure you have one of the 3D objects selected before you use the Save Object Style command. Otherwise ProModeler won’t know which Object Style you are trying to save.
