Sir David, sorry for my cryptic post. my 7th month old was on my lap, and this is due this afternoon.
So, to help achieve an answer to my problem, when I submit this tape to the festival, whom I assume with take this copy and put it on a master tape, will it unsqueeze? Or do I have to change my settings to get it to print in 16:9 format?

aha! that would make sense for the huge file sizes.
I can’t seem to change the Jpeg settings in compressor, even if I make it custom. I can change the video quality, but not the actual compression setting like you can in Photoshop.
Can you make a custom setting for Photo jpeg at 75?
While we are on the subject, what is this codec good for?

matt, thanks so much for this post. I have been battling with the Sony V1U as well, and am tired of batching in cinema tools to get true 24 frames per second. My question is, why don’t I have that update popping up for FCP? Do I need to install leopard?

thanks for the hints! I will try these three methods and re post. I need access to indesign on a PC, so I will look. When the pdf opens on the PC, it opens and reads fine, but when I try and edit it, it says that some of the fonts are not complete or are missing.

I have not tried the trashing prefs yet, but its easy to do. do a “trash prefs” search here, or in google, and it should come up. As far as understanding why this HDV bug is happening, if you figure it out let me know!

that wasn’t my question, the question is, this version was not bought for an intel mac, and I am wondering what do I have to do to install it on an intel mac? Can it be installed on an intel mac? This was the version that came out shortly before the intel macs went on sale.
