Hey man, I’m back with a solution for the above error and a workaround for my previously posted warning.
1. There is an annoying bug in Final Cut Pro X, that even after all processing is done, and all the files are consolidated in the project (I have the “File: copy to library storage location” enabled in preferences, after reopening the ALL DONE project, some files are mysteriously missing, and some elements are still with a dotted line above, as if some processing still needs to be done. And yes, there is the V check, stating that all background processing has been finished.
Anyway, I had no idea, but 5 files have been somehow “lost” from the project, even though they were in the source files, and I had not moved the originals.
There was this annoying yellow exclamation mark on the project name, symbolising that something IS missing.
I tried manually relinking files, but none were missing (according to FCPX)
However, 5 files were missing, and that’s why I got the
“An unexpected error occurred in importing the media. (asset: /fcpxml[1]/resources[1]/asset[20])”
WTF?!? Something is very wrong here but it does not make any sense!
I had an idea to manually “Consolidate Event Media” (clicl on the project -> File -> Consolidate Event Media),
and I got errors for 5 different files that were in the source media, but were somehow ,missing from the project.
Anyway, I dropped the files into the media browser and everything got right.
That made XCC functional again, as import did not fail now.
However, I was still getting that annoying warning about “invalid option key was specified”.
So what I did, is create a compound clip (ALT + G) from al the video files, and tried again.
This time everything worked like a charm, without errors or warnings.
Hopes this info is helpful to someone, thanks for the support Andreas!
