I see. This is more complex than I thought. I understand that AFter Effects is meant to be used to animate elements in the timeline and this sort of feature isn’t the main focus of the program. Inmy case my animation is a lot simpler than controlling this much of elements and I am wondering, how most animators organize comps when you animate something like character facial expressions? Do you create multiple comps or a single comp with all the options in it and trim the comp accordingly in the main timeline? What sort of approach would you recommend? I would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you so much in advance.
It works! The only thing is that when the face doesn’t rotate when it follows the Null. I normally use “Auto-Orient” to paths but it doesn’t seem to work with this. Is there a way to rotate the attached comp as the direction of the point changes?
Thank you for your response. I am sorry if this sounds too silly… I am still learning coding in AE and I am very newbie… How do you add a slider control to a separate layer? You mean like null object?
