As glennser mentioned, I’ve been able to import mp3’s directly. My question was basic as far as its intent is concerned (no error before and error now thing).

I realize that mp3’s cannot go back to the wave quality much like jpg can’t go back to psd or targa. I just hope that my question did not convey lack of my knowledge in file formats.

Thanks for your input, glennser. You said the mp3’s might not be genuine, but I tried dozen other mp3’s and they all resulted in same error. By the way, I am on a PC.

The basic question was more of a technical one regarding the error message.
I appreciate the feedback and the advice.

    One more question, Steve.

Since mp3 is compressed, when exporting to .wav, does it decompress?

Thank you for the reply, Steve.

I was able to import, but only after opening the mp3 in quicktime and saving that as .mov.

Are you saying that I need to import the mp3 in quickime to save it to .wav or .aif then import in AE?

My main concern is why suddenly I cannot import the mp3 directly (I won’t anymore after your advice.) because when occasionally getting error messages bothers me a bit. I’ve been enjoying errorfree AE for a while.

    Thanks again.

[serge] “I don’t know why your blades come in “separate” Do you mean offset?”

    Hi Serge,

I meant that they all come in together, but they are separately selectable. So, there is no problem there.

I think I found the problem though. My fan did not center because I had gotten rid of the ring around the whole fan. This threw the whole thing off center because without it, the center of the fan would be off-center due to the triangular shape overall.

Thanks so much for your attention.

    Hi again, Serge.

As I import the fan, the blades and the center are separate. In the Invigorator setup window, I can move the round shape to the center, but when I select the 3 blades together, I can’t move that to the center to line up with the round object’s center.

As I mentioned in my original post, the blades are bounded in a square but the actual center is not the center of the square boundary due to the triangular shape of the 3 blades together.

This is the part that I need clarification on. It could be something so minor, but at the moment, I am not finding an answer.

    Thanks again.

This question is for Mr. John Dickinson.

When you have a 3 bladed fan like in this case, and using the 3D tracking method in AE, how do you anchor the controller to the fan so that the z-axis is exactly in the center of the round part of the fan?

As you know, thinking in terms of the fan in a square, the geometrical center would not be in the exact center of the fan because of the triangular shape.

    Your help will be appreciated.

Looks like the fan is not placed exactly 90 degrees perpendicular to the ground.

Hi Serge, thank you for the video tutorial.
The mask was the answer I was looking for in order to avoid text wrapping to the backside.

I really appreciate your taking the time to explain this.
