Well, if I recall correctly, CC 8.x (=2014.x) doesn’t open CC 7.x, but I may be wrong.

BTW I couldn’t find a clear answer as to what I’m missing when I copy an mts file from within the SD card with AVCHD when for example:

1. The length of the shot is less than the file split limit.
2. Audio is a single channel, mono or stereo.

Any info?

Well, we’re members of a communication center sharing a video camera and each member takes the camera for a mission.
It’s more convenient for us to share the SD card in camera so that everyone just copies his files.
With AVCHD it’s not recommended to copy the mts files, but to copy the whole card for each member.
That’s a lot of redundant work and waste of storage.

So if I transcode instead, what would be the recommended container/codec to use for windows?

Was the Project file created in an earlier version of PP?
If so, the newer PP converts it to adapt and saves it with the new name.
