That site is incorrect. There is no firewire connection on this camcorder as you can see in the manual here: https://www.artdes.monash.edu.au/it/nvgs300.pdf

There is only a USB connector, a A/V connector (to plug to the TV or something the like) and a DV input/output connector for to tranfer the video to another camcorder or something.
