Ian: The “Source” pane shows the folder in question (“REEL 3”) indicating 10 clips. In the logging pane, only the first clip shows up in the window.

I have tried CB and find it very confusing and un-intuitive. I don’t need all those features and I’ve tried to figure out how to just the simple task of converting a BPAV folder’s contents to .MOV files. That’s all I need. In CB, that function seems to be “export” rather than “import” and even still, I don’t see an option for .MOV.

Ian: if there are 10 clips in the CLPR folder each sequentially numbered, XDCam transfer is not importing the last one in this latest problem.

I can’t import clips individually because for some unexplained reason, my XDCam Transfer software won’t let me see the individual clips in a browser type window where you can select which clips you want to import. It’s either all or nothing. At one point, XDCam allowed browsing but no longer. I’ve tried everything to get the browser function back to no avail. I don’t care about that now. For my purposes, importing all the clips is fine, provided I do get ALL the clips and not haphazzardly missing some.

No clips spanning across cards. Cards are uploaded to hard drives into Folders marked “REEL 1” “REEL 2” etc. The native “BPAV” structure is never touched or altered.

  • One of the first things I tried in XDcam Transfer was clearning the source and cache files. No luck. I also tried copying the BPAV folder to the local drive, rather importing from than an external. (The footage was shot last year and the cards have been recycled many times over.) No luck with that solution either.

In poking around trying to figure out how to import .mov files into FCP, I selected all the clips, and then “copied” onto the local drive. The software rebuilt the BPAV folder (with all the CLPR subfolders) and XDCam Tranfer worked fine from that rebuilt structure. Problem solved. On to the next!

Thanks for the helpful input! Cheers!

  • I just downloaded XDCam Browser and the clips are all there. I guess I need to toss XDCam Transfer plugin now. I just can’t yet figure out how to import them for FCP as .mov files.

    I’m working on it!

    No Clip Browser software.

I see only one clip in the main XDCAM Transfer center window. I can’t get that center window to show the “grid” view of all clips available on that disc

(My discs are all 8 gigs and generally have have between 5-15 clips.)

    I appreciate your help.

We shoot two cameras, PMW-350 and EX1R. Both cameras are set to 1080/60i 35mbs. HD only. Nothing fancy. I pull the SDcards out, transfer the BPAV folders straight away to a “REEL 1” “REEL 2” folders, etc. and leave everything intact as it is generated by the camera.

Under each BPAV folder is the standard CLPR folder with the numbered 412_ etc. folders of each shot under that.

My BPAV folders typically have 5-10 subfolders with clips. We stop the cameras frequently during shooting. (The software worked fine previously. I don’t think I’ve changed anything in workflow, etc.)

Hi Ian: I got the software to run but still having the view problems. (I am familiar with the filtering and that was not the issue.) I have folders along the left side and just one clip viewable in the center window. Many thanks.

Alright: I got 2.12 loaded but I still can’t see the multiple clips in a browser/grid like window. Only the first clip appears. Clicking on “view mode” does not change anything. I remember being able to view all the clips at once and select which ones I wanted to import.
