Thanks for all the help guys!

It’s all working now!!! I was recording a window which had the taskbar to the left of the screen and the border around the edge of the window. That’s the cause of the weird resolution choice which I completely overlooked. I’ve recorded again in fullscreen mode (1920×1080) and it works perfectly. It loads mp4 and mov files with no problems now. I cant help but think this problem could be avoided with a simple pop up message in SV12 but hey ho…

As for the avi files, I’ve found an option to record the screen using Bandicam with “Sony Vegas output settings” so it saves in a codec that SV12 can understand, bypassing the need to convert them. I thought I’d mention that in case anybody in a similar situation comes along.

WOW! When I went to sleep last night I didn’t expect such a nice solution this morning! Thanks for all the help everyone,I couldn’t have done this without your help!

    Hi John,

Thanks for the offer, the video is in this zip file (if I’ve managed to do it correctly).

    Hi Rick,

Right clicking on the event and going to properties brings up a menu with tabs “Video Event”, “Media” and “General”. I couldn’t find an “About” tab however the general tab has information which is given in bold further down.

The video is 4 seconds long and I have tried converting it but it lost a LOT of quality. I could recognise what the video was showing but it was very glitchy and simply unbearable to watch. I will keep looking at converters to see if any yield a nice quality video in a different format. Also, the Green screen is a solid uniform green screen, it doesn’t move or flicker. I’m using Version 12.0 64 bit (Build 770).

    I hope this helps.

    Hi John,

I’ve installed both of those as suggested.

MediaInfo says I need the AVC codec and takes me to https://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. I’ve downloaded it and nothing seems to have changed, even after a PC restart. SV12 still shows a green screen for the videos.

GSpot is showing all the details of the video and says that it is H.264/MPEG-4 AVC but the status is “Codec Status Undetermined”. I’ve installed x264vfw and still no change to the videos.

I cant help but feel I’m doing something wrong here…

Hi Rick, thanks for your reply!

Yes, I’ve already disabled GPU acceleration, which has sped up the preview window in SV12 a lot! However, how do I determine the codecs of my video files? Is there something I can download to tell me what I need? Also, if I need to install a codec, where would I get it from?

As I said, I’m completely new to this and don’t want to just guess in case something goes wrong!

    Thanks again for the help!
