A Didge player, cool … Yes, it’s your session file that has a problem and I see from one of your photo’s that didge 9 is missing … Try to locate didge 9 and get it into the session folder … Have you ever tried adding Native American Flute to your recordings … WILLIE

Normalizing just reduces the amplitude of the whole clip lowering the precieved volume preventing clipping … Suggestion … Try the HARD LIMIT effect on one of your clips … I would use the present with the following exceptions I would set MAX AMPLITUDE to -1db
and the LOOKAHEAD TIME to 15 … Here is where the effect is located …
Go to EFFECTS > AMPLITUDE > HARD LIMIT … What this does VS normalizing is it not only limits your peaks but it also amplfies everything burried in the mix increasing overall dynamic’s … You may want to experiment with the settings depending upon your mix you may not need to boost by 6db … I think if you like what noramlizing does you will love what hardlimiting can add to your mix ……. The function is called “CENTER CHANNEL EXTRACTOR” however it’s not as discreet as one might think … Go to EFFECTS > FILTERS > CENTER CHANNEL EXTRACTOR … I hope it fills your need but don’t be surprised if it comes up short …….. WILLIE

You need to go to OPTION > DEVICE ORDER, your device should be listed if it is then make it your default record device, if not you will see a tab that says “REWIRE” click on it and you should be able to get Audition to see your device … Make sure that the tracks are optioned to see your device also ……… WILLIE

I noticed it as well and I am not sure why it is … I just took the main mixer and bumped it up to correct the problem … I am still of the opinion that I will stick with 1.5 until 3.0 comes out … WILLIE

Which version of Audition are you using? I would try to unistall and then reinstall making sure that when the page comes up to select what file extensions you want Audition to use select all of them … WILLIE

  • And the winner of the Audition Anomaly award goes to jbrogers … So this is the part where Willie just scratches his head and stares blankly into space thinking, “No Way” … OK, the problem has to be in your settings or you have some really sinister latency issues … The other thing you always want to make sure of is to do the original work in the highest resolution possible so convert to WMV after the project is complete, but back to the problem at hand … You can import an AVI into 1.5 and sync, it would be a good way to see if you get the same results as you did with 2.0 … Personally I would sync the project in Pre Pro providing you have pre pro … Make sure your sample rate is 48K and not 441 or lower … Never seeing this problem before I am at a loss other than doing a work around using a different program … If you find a solution please post, thanks ……….. I certainly do love my layla but with the new computer it’s a non issue until I purchase a newer model … I will do as you suggested and call the guys on the support line, but just to answer your question, yes it goes away and shows no error message after asking for language … I really appreciate you helping out with the forum as well, I have been the only one for almost 2 years and when I go on location to shoot my TV show I feel bad that no one else is here to help ……… WILLIE
