OK, this is going to sound involved but it’s not … First do 2 mixdowns of your original track … On the session side click on the original track so it’s selected then move to the track below, right click and go to MIXDOWN > MIXDOWN/BOUNCE SELECTED TRACK STEREO, now repeat on track 3 … Take the first mixdown to the edit side, hightlight one of the channels and go to EFFECTS > AMPLITUDE > AMPLIFY/FADE and amplify by -300db … Take the track back to the session side and select it … Go to an empty track and right click MIXDOWN > MIXDOWN SLECTED WAVE MONO … Repeat this for the second mixdown of the original track only make sure you delete the other channel on the edit side ……… WILLIE

Are you captruing, JUST THE NOISE first? Highlight an area that has only noise and then hit OK, now reopen the noise reduction window making sure your whole clip is hightlighted … In PREVIEW mode, try taking about 60% or smaller out depending upon what it does to the vocal track … Worst case E-mail me a minute or so sample and I will see what is up … E-mail to loganonestudio@aol.com ……… WILLIE

Here is what you do … Highlight the area as you were doing, but then go to the EFFECTS > AMPLITUDE > AMPLIFY/FADE and then amplify by -300db … This will take care of your problem … On the Session side you can always highlight the section you want to remove and right click on the higlighted area and then click on CUT and it will remove it …………… WILLIE

When you capture the noise do you highlight just the noise then capture? If you did do it this way try taking small amounts out … Remember if the noise lands within the frequency of the voice you can only take so much before you start getting the reverb sound you described … Try working in spectral mode also it might be easier to see where the noise is … If you like you can E-mail me a minute or so and I will see if I can head you in the right direction … E-mail to loganonestudio@aol.com ……….. OK, I would then run a known amount of the tape, compair it to the counter in Audition this should give you a ratio you can work with ………. WILLIE

2.0 has issues and I refuse to use it … After talking at length with a tech that is working on the 3.0 I was assured that this and other issues were being addressed, only time will tell … I would unistall the flash player and see if your problem goes away …

  • Adobe has eliminated Audition from CS3, it is going to be a stand alone product … The reason was that a good number of video people were having problems with a full on audio editing program … Adobe has created Soundbooth, (a watered down version of Audition) to take it’s place. Personally, I will still export my audio after I edit the sequence in Per Pro and tweak it in Audition …………. WILLIE
