I went and looked and it was checked, and I have it set to 2000 ms. But it still won’t snap to it. The fades will snap to clips above or below it, but they won’t snap to other fades, which I was sure I remember being a thing that happens.

Sorry I wasn’t more clear. What I meant is that before and after the picture was taken, the clip was it’s regular 3 frame length, and the keyframes are no longer stacked like they were for just the picture. So that is definitely not the issue.

Your video looks just as sharp or better than his for me. Lots of movement naturally will cause distortion when the bitrate isn’t crazy high, and you are waving the screen a lot in yours.
If the black bars are visible in the timeline and preview window, then you just have to render the project at the same resolution or aspect ratio.

For the effect I need, I need both Glows, one with a wide radius and a short radius. Also the event is normally 3 frames, but when taking the picture I attempted to reduce it to one frame to try and prevent the crash. So normally it has just the 3 keyframes.

Good observations though. I turned off GPU acceleration, and turned off the glows. Reset Vegas and it still crashes at the same parts. 🙁 I even have the preview window set to Preview and Half quality, it always ran well on those settings.

Looks the same to me once the 720 HD kicks in. Youtube videos load at a lower quality first and go to higher settings when set to full screen and such, but takes a short bit to load the HD.
Also, his videos have black bars at the top and bottom because he is playing the game at an odd resolution. Yours does not have the black bars, meaning the output resolution is zooming in, and cutting off the sides to make it full screen.

Thank you for your help guys. It’s nice to know how it works and why, even though if I didn’t find the answer I was hoping for. In my situation I will just have to live with it I suppose.

Well the image looks awful if I set it any lower than Preview/Half, so I don’t want to do that.

The project is 1080P. I have tested a few different settings and saw no effect in the framerate. I animate comics, so the crop size is basically never the project size. And I don’t want to reduce the quality of the images. I’m guessing there’s no way to turn off the Interpolation.

  • I can’t even figure out how to get the command line open in ffmpeg, but it’s ok. I’ll live with this for now, I’m just happy to finally have it working. Thanks a bunch sir!

  • I am happy to report that Cinemartin Cinec works! It successfully converted a clip to ProRes and played in premiere. WOOOOO! I had tried ffmpeg before, but spent forever trying to get it to work and didn’t get anywhere.

Now I guess my final challenge is finding a way to keep the file size about equal to the original without it looking terrible. It seems to only have a few presets, and no way of making custom ones. Anyone have experience with this program?

  • Nah AME just says it’s an invalid codec. Which by the way, the codec is xdv9. I looked into this issue a few months ago, and all I could learn about this codec was that nothing can load it unless the computer has Final Cut Pro installed, so only a mac. I tried both Calibrated XD Decode and Content Browser by sony, which neither worked either.

I just tried Calibrated again, and I can’t seem to find any actual program. It just has an Options application, which basically only tells me that I’m in demo mode. There’s no way to load footage or anything like that.

Lastly, I am running CS 6 of everything, and the footage loads just fine on a mac, in FCP and Premiere. I am in a situation where I only have a PC, and need to find a way to make this work. I really appreciate your help so far.
