Thanks for your reply and clarification questions. Please note responses.

Are you trying to capture from a different deck than either of your cameras? Is your deck DV only? The deck will have a DVCAM logo if it can play back DVCAM tapes.

I’ve tried every combination. My normal camera for capture does not shoot DVCAM, so that became clear very quickly.

Have you tried to capture from both the PD-150 and the HVR-A1U?
Tried from HVR-A1U–no cigar. Also tried from PD-150; Same thing happened. No cigar! Go and shoot DV and works perfectly on capture. Go figure.

Perhaps the tape hubs are getting stuck and not allowing the tape to spin freely in its shell?
Have you tried a different DVCAM tape to see if it works?

I’ve been shooting on standard MiniDV tape. Mostly Panasonic.

Thanks for your reply. I read the article and it all sounded straight-forward…but…
I exported as a .ref and formatted as Mpeg 2 in Compressor. Set DVD studio to burn a SD 16×9 vid, processed—played fine on computer, but “format unsupported” on my Bose.
    Perplexed
