The way I see it FCP is perfect for me and the work I do and given my current old G5 is for the most part good Id imagine the last IMac model will be a big boost in production. Not worried about adobe because I don’t use it outside of a little ps … Well I think I made my mind up.., previous model it is

Yeah I’m thinking earlier model may just be the way to go. I just found a great deal on the last model from 2011 and this person has not only what I’m looking for as far as ports and compatibility but the computer is stocked with 32 gigs RAM and the price is awesome so I may snag that instead

All these boxes look cool but is it needed for what I’m doing is the question….

I shoot on a Sony Z1U (Tape) and capture via firewire. If Im using my 2nd cam which is a smaller cannon vixia its card so a box that can capture really doesn’t do anything for me as Ive never needed one…simply want to have an extended desktop on the one monitor with video playback for my client on the tv….

    Other suggestions, tips, etc?

You guys are very helpful thank you

Yup. We capture vids everyday at work and on those comps it comes in no problem…

Im worried that somehow in my upgrade in OS and Quiktime updating that somehow thats affected the audio…

Again when I play the file in Quicktime I hear that other channel (its a wireless mic on channel 2) yet in FCP when I pull the video onto the track I just get that 1 channel…??
