I feel pretty stupid that I haven’t thought of creating a video proxy. I am gonna give it a try, even though I still don’t get why GoPro Studio messes up the video quality.

Is there any chance that I can change the location Vegas Pro saves the proxy videos? I believe the default is the folder where the original file is located. I’d rather have Vegas Pro save the proxies somewhere else. Is that possible? Can’t find it somewhere.

I’ve tried it on a trial of build 453 and it works pretty good. I still have some jerky footage once in a while, but I guess I am in need of a system upgrade as well. I’ll try it and I’ll upgrade Vegas asap if satisfied. There is just one thing I am struggling with: the settings for the preview screen. If I use preview > auto, the footage has a sharp contrast. Any tips?

So, if I understand correctly, an upgrade to Vegas Pro 13 build 453 should allow me to work with the GoPro mp4 files in Vegas Pro 13 without having to convert them first?

I am about to reinstall GoPro Studio.

Should I also re-render the original files to avi with GoPro studio?

    Hey Mark,

Thanks for your replies. I will try reinstalling the GoPro software. I just discovered that the error only occurs with the AVI-files converted with GoPro studio. I have some problems with editing my GoPro footage in Vegas (but I asked that question in this topic: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/995264)

I will see if I get any responses in the other topic and otherwise I will try and work around the assertion error.

    Thanks!
