Thanks for the thoughts, Tom. I’d love to upgrade my camera, and depending upon repair estimate I might just.

In the intervening centuries since 2007, last Fall I acquired a GH1 and its 720@30p is quite stunning. Just shot a short doc with it in the field and apart from certain ergonomic issues, it outdid the 200. With what I could get for a used HVX200 kit (w/ Century lens attachments, Firestore FS-100, Ellipz, 6 cards, etc.) the time might be right— even for the HPX170 which would be a step up!

Report: Updating the firmware did not solve the issue. I’m shipping the camera to Panasonic in NJ for a service estimate.

I’ve gotten some decent results from Revostock, and even some HD clips.

  • If it’s stopping on that same clip maybe it’s corrupt. Can you render or export the clips after it?

I would convert those troublesome clips to the frame rate and codec of your sequence BEFORE trying to edit with them.
Then bring them in as the same format you’re using for the edit.

  • So fully rendering it all in the sequence didn’t work? Convert all clips at least to the same frame rate, if not the same dimension. Use those clips in the sequence instead of the originals.

All audio should be 48, not 44. Convert it.

Rendering a Mixdown of all the audio in a sequence is no big deal, minutes at most and often just seconds. Also, it’s the only way to properly hear the actual line-up and levels of fresh work, the way it’s going to be heard in a final render.

  • Sure everything is the absolutely same codec and it matches the sequence setting?
Anyway, force a full render everything in the sequence.
If no go, trash prefs, etc.
