Jerome,
The first thing I would do is to trash the Media 100 Preferences and create a brand new project to see if THAT one works.
Quit Media 100, then find the Media 100 Preferences folder here: YouUserFolder/Library/Preferences/…
If that doesn’t work…
You mentioned disconnecting/reconnecting cables but did you try the Junction Box? Be sure to shut down the computer first (sorry, I have to say that).
How about re-seating the P6000 itself? For that, you REALLY have to shut down 😉

That’s just the name of the codec. I have no idea WHY they named it that way, but that’s what you’re seeing.
To reassure yourself, try the following in Media 100:
– Load a clip into the Edit Suite.
– Hold down the Command (apple) key while tapping on the left and right arrow keys. This will step through fields on interlaced media.
– If it’s interlaced, you will see that it takes two taps of the arrow to move the timecode one frame.
– If it’s progressive, one tap of the arrow will advance the timecode whether you are holding the Command key or not.

October 7, 2009 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Capturing in FCP ProRes 422HQ and editing in M100If you’ve got media files that you thing SHOULD be fast-importing, check to see if the files are locked by highlighting the file in the Finder then choosing “Get Info” from the file menu. If they ARE locked, Media 100 should NOT import them and alert you that they are locked. However…
Just last week, I came across some media that claimed it was locked and yet still imported into M100 via slow-import. Unlocking the file and trying again resulted a fast-import as expected.

Even when you have a media file that “fast-imports” (it does NOT create a new file), Media 100 does need to write just a tiny bit of info in the header of the file. This information is then used for media linking. That way, you can rename your media drive, move the media to a different drive, rename the file itself… heck, you can even do all three and Media 100 will still find it and link it for you.

There are a lot of undefined variables here but, off the top of my head…
Try exporting from QTPro as DV.

Great news Colin. Thank YOU for being so patient.

Hey Jim,
Welcome back. Mahalo.I want to be absolutely sure that everyone reading along understands the two important details enabling Jim to pull this off…
1 – Media 100 Suite can still run on Leopard (Jim’s PPC- based Mac can’t run Snow Leopard). It’s reasonable to assume that there will be a day when we just cannot keep Media 100 running on both operating systems.
2 – Jim’s particular PPC Mac is one of very few made with PCIe slots (an absolute requirement for the AJA LHi card.

In the interest of complete accuracy… one more addition.
It does NOT replace the Transitions folder as I stated above. It replaces the CONTENTS of the Transitions folder. Just in case anyone’s checking;-)

hmmm… to be clear…
The problem that this patch addresses is ONLY found in v1.0.2. If you’ve got ANY prior version installed, you do NOT need this patch.
