Activity Forums Media 100 jittery QT playback

I have had some QT files sent to me, which I need to incorporate into a program. The QT’s are ex HDV and have been converted to SD 8 bit uncompressed. When I import them into M100 they are jittery, a bit like a progressive look. I can’t change the files, but was wondering what I might try to smooth out the motion.
Might be a field order thing or something, but nothing I try seems to work. All this is in Pal. M100 version 13.0.2 QT 7.6.
    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

There are a lot of undefined variables here but, off the top of my head…

Try exporting from QTPro as DV.

If they are coming from HDV, they could be progressive. Try stepping to the frames with COMMAND-Arrow left or COMMAND-Arrow Right to step through the fields to see if the field order is correct. Maybe they have been shot progressive with a wrong shutter angle, or they have been shot interlaced and have been converted to progressive by dropping a field.
Or they have been scaled down from HD to SD incorrectly
Or they initially were shot at a different frame rate
    Or…

In most cases there is not much that you can do about this, except trying to figure out what went wrong and to see if there is a way to avoid that.
